Agibot Leads Humanoid Robot Shipments in H1 2026

Chinese robotics manufacturer Agibot ranked first in global humanoid robot shipments during the first half of 2026, according to research published by Smart Analytics Global. The company shipped approximately 8,400 humanoid robots between January and June, capturing around 44 percent of the global market, as reported in the firm’s August 10 market update.

The findings highlight the rapid expansion of humanoid robotics as manufacturers seek to move artificial intelligence from digital applications into physical environments. Moreover, the competition is increasingly focused on production capacity, practical applications and the ability to deploy robots beyond controlled demonstrations.

However, shipment estimates vary across research firms because their market definitions and counting methods differ. International Data Corporation, in a separate update published in September, reported more than 8,600 Agibot shipments and nearly 25,000 global shipments for the same period.

Humanoid Robot Market Records Strong Growth

According to Smart Analytics Global, global humanoid robot shipments reached approximately 19,100 units in the first half of 2026, compared with around 5,100 units during the same period in 2025. This represents year over year growth of approximately 272 percent.

The research also identified a leadership change, with Agibot overtaking rival Unitree Robotics. Unitree shipped approximately 5,900 robots during the period, accounting for around 31 percent of global shipments in the Smart Analytics Global dataset.

Meanwhile, IDC reported substantially higher worldwide shipment estimates, illustrating why businesses and investors should identify the research provider behind any market ranking.

These figures point to growing manufacturing activity, although shipment volumes alone do not establish how many robots are operating productively or generating commercial returns.

Why Agibot Is Gaining Market Share

Agibot’s product portfolio is an important factor in its market position. The company’s offerings include the full sized A series, compact X series and wheeled G series, addressing different operational requirements.

This range allows the company to target multiple applications rather than relying entirely on one robot model. Furthermore, a broader portfolio can help manufacturers address different requirements for mobility, interaction and physical task execution.

Humanoid robots combine mechanical systems with artificial intelligence, sensors and software that enable them to perceive surroundings and respond to instructions. As a result, improvements in embodied AI could expand the range of tasks these machines can perform.

Nevertheless, product variety must be supported by dependable performance, competitive pricing and effective after sales service before it can deliver sustained commercial advantages.

Commercial Applications Expand Beyond Research

Humanoid robots are increasingly attracting interest from industrial and commercial organisations. Potential applications include material handling, manufacturing support, warehouse operations, customer assistance and visitor guidance.

Smart Analytics Global reported that industrial and commercial applications accounted for more than 70 percent of humanoid robot shipments in the first half of 2026, compared with approximately 50 percent a year earlier.

This shift suggests that businesses are exploring practical uses alongside research, education and demonstration activities. However, individual deployments vary considerably in complexity, and many applications still require supervision, training and workflow adjustments.

For companies evaluating automation, the central question is whether a robot can complete a specific task safely, consistently and economically. Its performance must be measured against existing processes rather than judged solely by its technical capabilities.

Industry Impact and Future Market Outlook

The growth of humanoid robotics could influence manufacturing strategies, warehouse operations and workforce planning. Businesses may use robots to support repetitive or physically demanding activities, potentially allowing employees to focus on tasks that require judgement, problem solving and human interaction.

Moreover, wider adoption could create opportunities for software developers, robotics engineers, component suppliers and IT service providers. Integration with enterprise software, operational data and industrial systems will also become increasingly important.

However, businesses must account for equipment costs, maintenance, cybersecurity, safety requirements and employee training. These factors will determine whether deployments generate measurable returns.

Smart Analytics Global projected that global humanoid robot shipments could exceed 50,000 units in 2026. This is a forecast rather than a confirmed outcome, and actual growth will depend on customer demand, production capacity and the successful expansion of commercial applications.

What Businesses Should Know

Agibot’s leading position highlights the growing importance of production scale and product diversity in the humanoid robotics industry. However, companies considering adoption should look beyond shipment rankings when evaluating potential suppliers.

Businesses should identify suitable tasks, conduct controlled pilot projects and measure productivity, reliability and total operating costs. They should also assess maintenance arrangements, safety procedures and integration requirements before committing to large deployments.

For technology leaders, the next stage of the market will depend on whether robots can deliver consistent results in everyday working environments. Continued improvements in embodied AI and manufacturing could create new opportunities, but commercial success will ultimately depend on practical performance and measurable business value.
